First day in F&B was feeling excited and nervous for sure. But sooner, five of us were getting better. In f&b banquet, really had thousands things to learn. For instant, set up for different type of functions, standard procedure for arranging tables and chairs and etc. So far, we are still absorbing the skills and knowledge. Ohya, banquet teams members really crazy and funny that I never expected before this, no matter captains, permanent stuffs or casual workers. And most of these are Malays and Indians. Hence, we are hard to communicate sometimes.
In banquet, when have few functions in a day, all of us like machine working none stop till end of the work. 5 trainees might separate in different functions set up, just once in awhile. Yet, when there have no function, all of us will pile into store room and do clean up. Guess what, the time is really difficult to pass by. This is so- called banquet department la. Haha. Tell you all secretly; this is the best time for those who love to sleep while working. Hehe. Because have no even one function on list, so I think besides sleeping, there have nothing to do by the way.
So far, I did wedding dinner set up before. Because of this function, I had ironed more than hundred cover seats in a day with Reika. Besides this, I had assignments for coffee break, refreshments, meeting set up and etc. That’s why, we had thousands things need to master in this department.
I’m going change to new department in coming Saturday, how sad is it?
